My expectations or my goal was to lose weight period. The expectation only comes from me in what I want out of this program and nobody else. I started out on Aug 21, 2017 at 223 pounds and by the time I was done, I was 209 pounds. I lost almost 15 pounds (and 5% body fat). I followed a structured plan on exercise which I could do. Eating what and how much came from the numbers I had which changed from week to week depending on how I felt. I used the MY FITNESS PAL Premium app. I know that my coach had some expectations too. They listen to you and steer you in the direction you want to go. You go back and forth with them as much as is needed.
Did we meet your expectations?
Yes. My coach Cindy kept me going toward my goals from day one. I meet with her to get my initial measurements and then I was out on my own. If I needed anything, I could go and see her or get in touch with her by e-mail, which she was always quick to return.
What are some of the most powerful lessons you are walking away with?
The biggest lesson was the way I ate. After I started the program, I would think first before grabbing that big piece of cake, bowl of ice cream, pastry, chips or any of that other stuff you wouldn’t think twice about. I LOVE all of the things mentioned above, but my thought was if I wanted to reach my goals then I could have some — BUT just a little — as I still had to find the place where it fit in with my daily numbers. The question here is — how much willpower do you have? — as that is where your lesson begins.
What is your greatest accomplishment?
My biggest accomplishment was to not give up when I saw the scale every single day. It is an evil device as you may weigh yourself today and be at 220 and the next day you are 222 and stay there for a couple days. The next day you are down to 221 but you are still up one pound. It is a time thing, which I knew, because I did it every day. Sometimes I wanted to skip it and not weigh in. This was the toughest for me as you can control what you have to eat everyday as well with the exercise you do.
This program has the people that you need to do well, but it is not up to them, it is totally up to you on how you approach it to get the results you are looking for. What you put in is what you get out of this.
